Ambassador O’Keefe Addresses Judges Nationwide on Open World with U.S. Judiciary

WASHINGTON, D.C. —Today, Ambassador John O’Keefe, Executive Director of Open World Leadership Center will engage judges and court employees across the country via a panel on peer-to-peer International Rule of Law Programs. Ambassador O’Keefe will serve as one of four panelists for a live discussion known as a Knowledge Seminar hosted by the International Judicial Relations Committee of the U.S. Judicial Conference (IJRC) and the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. This panel highlights Open World’s federal partnerships in the executive and judicial branches as well as the impact of Open World’s Rule of Law Programs in Eurasia.

On the panel, Ambassador O’Keefe is joined by Assistant Secretary for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) William R. Brownfield, Hon. Allyson K. Duncan, Circuit Judge U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit of North Carolina, and Hon. Richard G. Stearns, U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts.

As of May 2017, Open World has hosted 3,545 judges and other legal professionals from 18 countries on Rule of Law Programs. Through Open World’s peer-to-peer programs with U.S. judges and Eurasian judges, these exchange programs facilitate opportunities for Open World delegates to share best practices and gain legal expertise.
