WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Open World Leadership Center (the Center) is announcing that the United States Congress has approved a name change to the Congressional Office for International Leadership (COIL). The Board of Trustees’ voted to adopt the name Congressional Office for International Leadership to more accurately reflect the mission and Congressional affiliation of the agency.

The Center will continue to implement the Open World program which it has administered since 1999.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Open World Leadership Center (the Center) has been heavily monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and has taken precautionary measures to mitigate the impact of COVID-19. The Center will temporarily pause all Open World programs pending guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The Center views the health, safety, and well-being of our program participants as its top priority. In light of the ongoing pandemic, we have paused programs through May 31st and are continually reviewing further postponements after that.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Open World Leadership Center, an agency of the U.S. Congress, is pleased to announce the success of its Ukrainian program alumni in KyivPost’s 30 Under 30 Award, an annual prize that celebrates young Ukrainian leaders.  The winners are young Ukrainians who have achieved outstanding results in different fields, including teachers, scientists, human rights activists, politicians, start-up founders, and show business stars. WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Open World Leadership Center (the Center), an agency of the U.S. Congress, welcomes six delegations from Ukraine this week focusing on a variety of issues including Education and Public Policy. Among the arrival of these groups, the Center is thrilled to welcome its 4,000th participant from Ukraine with Ms. Kateryna Yatsura, the Director of the Web Communications Center at Karazin Kharkiv National University.
