There are a relatively low number of nurses in Romania in comparison to the countryÕs European counterparts. Although healthcare statistics are improving, they still rank towards the bottom in the European Union. This Open World program will focus on best practices in nursing care and in health care administration in general, particularly for rural or underserved communities. The program will also cover how nursing is taught and explore the various types and levels of nurses and standards in the U.S. system. Members of the medical community will observe both large-scale hospital operations and community programs where nurses play a vital role in patient care.
