WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Open World Leadership Center welcomes its first group of Senator Ben Nelson Fellows, four medical doctors and researchers from Russia, on June 24. The Board of Trustees of the Open World Leadership Center at its annual meeting this year voted to create a program of Senator Ben Nelson Fellows to honor Senator Nelson's contribution to Open World and to improving ties between the U.S. and countries of the former Soviet Union. After an orientation in Washington, DC, the delegation will be hosted in Senator Nelson’s home state of Nebraska from June 26 – July 3.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Open World Leadership Center welcomes 24 judges and prosecutors from Turkey June 20, the first of two Turkish travel dates in 2013. The Turkish rule of law professionals were nominated by the High Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSYK) of Turkey and vetted by the U.S. Embassy in Ankara. Programming will be conducted under the terms of a memorandum of understanding between the Open World Leadership Center and HSYK.

[Cleveland, Ohio] — Five Russian government officials participating in the Open World Program will arrive in Cleveland on Friday, May 17th to begin a week long informational program focusing on best practices in government entities. The delegation, consisting of directors and heads of various Volgograd city administration offices, will meet with elected and public Cleveland city officials and nonprofit urban development professionals.

Open World Honored Judge George for Exceptional Hosting

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Open World Leadership Center Trustees Librarian of Congress James Billington and Robert E. “Bud” Cramer honored Nevada’s Senior U.S. District Judge Lloyd D. George April 19 for his exceptional service to the Open World program. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid welcomed Judge George to the Capitol Building, where Open World held a ceremony in his honor in the historic President’s Room.
