WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Open World Leadership Center, an agency of the U.S. Congress, will kick off its Fall hosting season by welcoming a delegation of Ukrainian mental health care workers and clergy specializing in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder on August 21. Open World has had programs for Ukraine for over 10 years. The delegation of 23 will have orientation in Washington, D.C. before departing for its professional programming conducted by the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT. The group will receive an overview of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder programs and treatments in the U.S.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Open World Leadership Center, an agency of the U.S. Congress, will welcome its 20,000th participant when Ms. Olga Shchetinina, age 24, arrives in Washington, D.C. as a member of a larger delegation of emerging Russian professionals on November 14. Ms. Shchetinina will be recognized November 15 during the groups’ orientation by Open World Trustee Secretary R. James Nicholson.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Open World Leadership Center, an agency of the U.S. government, which is celebrating 10 years of programming in Ukraine, will welcome its 2,000th participant from Ukraine when educator Volodymyr Filippov arrives in Washington, D.C. as a member of  a larger delegation of emerging Ukrainian professionals on November 6.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On October 16 President pro tempore Patrick Leahy appointed The Honorable Martin Heinrich of New Mexico to the Board of Trustees of the Open World Leadership Center pursuant to the provisions of 2 U.S.C. 1151, as amended. Senator Heinrich moves into a trustee position vacated by The Honorable Carl Levin of Michigan.
