Open World to Honor Local Hosts of U.S.-Ukraine Foundation

OLNEY, MD —Today, Open World Leadership Center will honor the local hosts of U.S.-Ukraine Foundation (USUF). Currently, USUF is hosting an Open World delegation of media professionals from Ukraine in Silver Spring, MD from September 8-16, 2017. The sub-theme for this week’s civic delegation is countering false information/media literacy.

During the host recognition ceremony, Ambassador John O’Keefe, Executive Director of Open World will present awards to the five families hosting Open World delegates. Families being honored include:

• The Kendall Family: Diane, Clark, and Megan
• The Milner Family: Susan, Chris, Forrest, Charlotte, and Graham
• The Murphy Family: Marlene, Frank, Brian, James, and Sean
• The O’Hara/Kosatka Family: Maureen and Art
• The Karmazyn Family: Sonia, Adrian, Melania, and Levko

Since 2006, USUF has worked with Open World as a grantee to build and create programs for 104 Ukrainian delegations. In 2017, USUF will host 72 Open World delegates across the United States.
